Flavour profile
History
This Daiquiri-style cocktail contains ample orgeat (almond syrup), yet remains just shy of overly sweet, its almond richness adding tropical character.
This cocktail was created for the Bacardí Legacy 2017 competition by Maurizio la Spina at Bartender's Italia in Naples, Italy. La Spina noted the historical connection between Cuba and cocktails, particularly "tropical" varieties. He described his creation as akin to "every tropical drink: a vacation in a glass," an elixir capable of transporting the drinker to another time and place, perhaps to prohibition-era Cuba where simple ingredients were used to create a temporary escape to a tropical world.
