History
A vodka base provides fruity, bittersweet notes of pineapple and passion fruit.
Kevin Armstrong invented this drink in 2010 at Milk & Honey, London. The name is derived from the London postcode of Armstrong's residence, E8, an area known for frequent muggings. An incident involving Sam Jeveons inspired the name. After Armstrong had dropped Jeveons off in a taxi, Jeveons stopped to urinate. While he was doing so, with his trousers down, an assailant approached, stepped on his trousers, and demanded his wallet. Jeveons then pursued the assailant, trousers around his ankles. This event was subsequently referred to as the East 8 Hold Up.
