1 oz Lime juice
1/2 oz Sugar syrup 'rich' (2:1)
1/2 oz Claret wine

How to make

Serve in a coupe glass

  1. 1 SHAKE first 3 ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass
  2. 2 Carefully FLOAT wine.

History

A Margarita with mezcal for smoke and red wine for blood. Devilishly good!

In December 2020, Stacey Harvard suggested on the Devil's Margarita page that "I used Del Maguey Mezcal instead, the smokiness seemed more appropriate. Was lovely." This led to the creation of the Devil's Margarita.
