History
Bourbon's character shines through, softened and flavoured by cacao and citrus.
Gary Regan adapted Ted Haigh's original Delmarva Cocktail, publishing both versions in his 2003 book, The Joy of Mixology. Regan's recipe uses 2oz straight rye whiskey, ½oz dry vermouth, ½oz white crème de cacao, and ½oz lemon juice. However, depending on the crème de cacao, this can result in a sour profile, so a version using bourbon, bianco vermouth, and slightly less lemon has been created.
