This recipe is adapted from William Schmidt's 1892 book, The Flowing Bowl. The recipe, titled The Delicious Sour, calls for a Goblet with the juice of a lime, a squirt of seltzer, a spoonful of sugar, ½ of apple-jack, ½ of peach brandy, and the white of an egg. The instructions are to fill the glass with ice, shake well, strain, and serve.
