History

The classic recipe is too sour; adding sugar syrup improves it, bringing it closer to a Sidecar.

The Deauville Cocktail is adapted from a recipe in Harry Craddock's 1930 The Savoy Cocktail Book. The recipe calls for ¼ Brandy, ¼ Calvados, ¼ Cointreau, and ¼ Lemon juice. It should be shaken well and strained into a chilled glass.
