History
Rum and herbal honey liqueur complement each other; lime provides flavour, freshness, and balance.
This recipe is adapted from William James "Billy" Tarling's 1937 Café Royal Cocktail Book Coronation Edition. DEANSGATE Invented by J. E. (Ted) Player ½ Daiquiri Rum. ¼ Rose's Lime Juice. ¼ Drambuie. Mix in bar glass., squeeze orange peel on top. A cocktail named "Dean's Gate", which contained 60ml vodka, 30ml Drambuie, 30ml lime cordial, and 30ml chilled lime juice, was previously documented on this page. It had been part of our database since the late 1990s and was featured in the initial publication of our book.
