History
This bright red drink offers better balance and flavour than its appearance suggests.
Created in 2002 by Jake Burger at the Townhouse bar in Leeds, England, this cocktail is named after Daisy Duke. Daisy is a character from the American television series The Dukes of Hazzard, portrayed by Catherine Bach. She is depicted as an aspiring singer-songwriter working as a waitress at Boar's Nest, the tavern owned by Boss Hog. As the cousin of Bo and Luke Duke, the show's main characters, Daisy became famous for her extremely short shorts. Her shorts became such a fashion icon that The Smithsonian Institution, the world's largest museum, acquired a pair from the show for its collection.
