History

A Dry Martini with fino sherry, distinguished by a splash of brandy.

Franklin C. Edson, a noted yachtsman, adapted this recipe from Ted Saucier's 1951 book, Bottoms Up. It is named CYVA. The ingredients are: ½ jigger gin, ½ jigger dry sherry, 1 teaspoon cognac, and 2 dashes orange bitters. Combine with ice, stir, and strain into a cocktail glass. Serve with a pitted green olive.
