1 1/4 oz Mezcal
1 oz Cranberry juice
1/2 oz Orange-red aperitivo
1/2 oz Lime juice
4 drop Margarita Bitters

How to make

Serve in a old-fashioned glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. 2 RIM glass with Tajín seasoning (moisten outside edge with lime or orange juice and drip into Tajín).
  3. 3 Prepare garnish of dehydrated lime slice wheel.

Method

  1. 4 SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  2. 5 STRAIN into ice-filled glass.

  1. 6 Garnish with dehydrated lime slice wheel.

History

Mezcal-forward, but in flavour rather than a spirituous way, indeed this bittersweet aperitivo is relatively restrained on the boozy front.

This recipe was adapted from a 2022 creation by Bryan Cranston, the star of Breaking Bad. It was originally made with Dos Hombres mezcal, a brand he cofounded with co-star Aaron Paul.
