History
With generous measures of absinthe and orgeat, this is an attention-seeking cocktail.
This drink first appeared in the 1937 United Kingdom Bartenders' Guild Approved Cocktails book. It is also mentioned in William James "Billy" Tarling's Café Royal Bar Book, published that same year, under "cocktails of which space forbids giving recipes." The name "Cooee" is of indigenous Australian origin. When yelled as a high-pitched call, it can travel long distances. COO-EE SPECIAL. Invented by T. D.
