History

A Whiskey Sour with mint, elderflower, and fruitiness from grenadine.

Created in late 2009 by Lynnette Marrero and Jim Kearns for the debut of Rye House, a bar at 11 West 17th Street in Manhattan, New York City. The establishment, which featured more than 30 rye whiskies, ceased operations due to the COVID pandemic. The drink honors Clara Gordon Bow (1905-1965), an American actress celebrated as a sex symbol during the Roaring Twenties. Her starring role in the film "It" propelled her to global stardom, earning her the moniker "The It Girl".
