History

Half-sized serves are best sipped from a Copita cup – too tasty to appreciate in a gulp.

This cocktail is adapted from a recipe created circa 2012 by Tonia Guffey at Dram bar in New York City. Initially named the Triple A, referencing amaro, Angostura, and applejack, the name CIA, an acronym for Cynar In Applejack, was suggested by broadcaster and bar entrepreneur Sother Teague.
