History

Like other Daiquiris, this complex version benefits from dilution; consider adding water.

The origins of this Daiquiri, which includes rosso vermouth and crème de cacao, are not known. This cocktail was initially titled "Daiquiri No.2 (El Floridita style)" in an early version of this database. However, it differs significantly from the Daiquiri No. 2 created by Constantino "Constante" Ribalaïgua Vert, who managed Havana's renowned El Floridita from 1918 to 1952. Consequently, in June 2025, this cocktail was renamed Chocolate Presidente, referencing the classic El Presidente, a well-known rum-based cocktail featuring vermouth, lime, and grenadine.
