1 oz Cognac (brandy)
1 1/2 oz Orange juice
1/4 oz Grenadine syrup
1 2/3 oz Brut sparkling wine

How to make

Serve in a flute glass

  1. 1 SHAKE first 3 ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass
  2. 2 TOP with sparkling wine.

History

Biscuity champagne notes subtly shine through this very quaffable drink.

While many variations of this classic cocktail exist, this particular version is taken from Dale DeGroff's 2008 book, The Essential Cocktail. In the book, Dale attributes the recipe to the Ritz Bar in Paris, France, around 1936.
