History
Despite ample Italian sweet vermouth, rye whiskey is prominent in this harmonious, dry Manhattan-like cocktail.
This cocktail comes from Jacob A. Grohusko's 1908 book, Jack's Manual. Grohusko was the head bartender at Baracca's Restaurant, located on Wall Street in lower Manhattan. He resided in Hoboken, New Jersey. BROOKLYN COCKTAIL 1 dash Amer. Picon bitters 1 dash Maraschino 50% rye whiskey 50% Ballor Vermouth Fill glass with ice. Stir and strain. Serve.
