History

Mint and a vigorous shake make this compact after-dinner drink exceptionally invigorating.

This cocktail, a simple mix of brandy, sugar, and bitters, is one of the oldest documented cocktails. Its origins can be traced back to the early 19th century, with the first known printed recipe appearing in "The Balance and Columbian Repository" in 1806. The "New York Spectator" also mentioned it in 1837. This drink is often considered a precursor to more complex cocktails, laying the groundwork for the sophisticated drinks we enjoy today. The exact proportions have been debated over the years, but the core ingredients remain consistent. The Brandy Cocktail is a testament to the enduring appeal of simple, well-balanced flavors.
