Ingredients

1 1/2 oz Bourbon whiskey
1/2 oz Hazelnut liqueur
1/2 oz Honey and water syrup
3/4 oz Lemon juice
5 drop Sesame oil

How to make

Serve in a old-fashioned glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of dehydrated lemon slice wheel and sesame oil.

Method

  1. 3 SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  2. 4 STRAIN into ice-filled glass (preferably over a large cube or chunk of block ice).

Garnish

  1. 5 Garnish with dehydrated lemon slice wheel and 1 drop of sesame oil on top for aromatics.

History

Subtle, well-integrated hazelnut liqueur and sesame oil complement this honey and bourbon sour.

This is a variation on the Gold Rush, created in 2017 by David Roth, who was the head bartender at Covina in the Park South Hotel, New York City. He has since moved on to become Beverage Director for HI Hospitality in Florida.
