History
A spirit-forward (bourbon) Manhattan-style digestif.
The name honors the Big Chief Mardi Gras Indians who lead their respective tribes in New Orleans' St. Joseph's Day parade. This adaptation stems from a recipe created in 2016 by Abigail Deirdre Gullo at SoBou in New Orleans, USA. It is a variation on Abigail Gullo's own Longshoreman, which itself was inspired by the Red Hook, part of a series of Manhattan-style cocktails named after districts in New York City.
