Frozen gin and juice, with cranberry adding berry complexity and tart lime for balance.
This recipe is adapted from Victor Bergeron's 1972 book, Trader Vic's Bartender's Guide. BETWEEN DECKS ½ Lime ¾ ounce cranberry juice 1½ ounces orange juice ¼ ounces sugar syrup 2 ounces gin Juice the lime into an electric drink mixer over a scoop of shaved ice, reserving the shell. Add the other ingredients and blend. Serve in a 10-ounce glass, garnished with the spent lime shell, fresh mint, and a fresh fruit stick.
