History
It is best described as a vodka daiquiri with a hint of herbal peppermint courtesy of Galliano.
This cocktail, created by "C. S. Berner", first appeared as the winning entry at a 1950 bartender's competition. It is featured in The U.K.B.G. Guide to Drinks, 1st edition, published in 1953. It does not appear in Ted Saucier's 1951 Bottoms Up!, contrary to previous belief; no earlier reference has been found in that publication. U.K.B.G., U.S.A.
