History

This tequila-based drink offers a zesty and bitter initial taste, evolving into a bittersweet finish. In March 2022, the volume of gentian liqueur was reduced from 15ml (½oz) to 7.5ml (¼oz); enthusiasts of bitter gentian may prefer the original specification.

Christopher Day created this drink in 2015 at General Lee's in Los Angeles, USA. The recipe has been adapted from his original.
