1 1/2 oz Dark/black rum
1 1/2 oz Amaretto liqueur
1/2 oz Lemon juice
1/6 oz Sugar syrup 'rich' (2:1)

How to make

Serve in a coupe glass

Method

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. 2 RIM glass with sugar and cinnamon powder. (Moisten outside edge with lime juice and dip into mix of 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder to ½ cup white sugar.)
  3. 3 SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. 4 FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

This cocktail is an adaptation of a drink discovered in 2003 at Bellagio in Las Vegas, USA. It is not documented whether the cocktail is named after Bella Donna, Stevie Nicks' 1981 debut solo album, or Atropa belladonna, the poisonous plant commonly known as belladonna or deadly nightshade.
