History

This drink balances tangy citrus, fresh basil, and gin's botanical complexity.

Though Greg Lindgren is credited with a basil-infused Gimlet in 2006 at San Francisco's Rye, this recipe is adapted from a version discovered the same year at Stella in Boston, USA. The Stella recipe combines fresh lime and lime cordial, while Lindgren's used fresh lime juice and simple syrup.
