History

A Scotch whisky Perfect Martini.

The Balmoral cocktail is named after Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, the Scottish residence of the British Royal family. Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's husband, acquired the original castle and estate in 1852, and the current, larger castle was finished in 1855. Many online sources refer to the Balmoral cocktail as a 'classic', but no earlier mention has been found in any vintage cocktail book.
