History

Float the whisky for a delightful aromatic first sip. Split vermouths add bianco richness.

This drink is adapted from a recipe by John J. Poister, published in his 1989 book, The New American Bartender's Guide. The Balmoral Martini is made with 2 oz Bombay Gin, several dashes of dry vermouth to taste, and several dashes of Scotch whisky. The instructions are to stir the gin and vermouth with ice in a pitcher, strain into a chilled cocktail glass, float the Scotch whisky on top, and garnish with a lemon zest twist. This was created by the author for Carillon Importers, Ltd.
