1 2/3 oz Bourbon whiskey
1 oz Rosso/sweet vermouth
3/4 oz Dry vermouth
1/6 oz Bénédictine D.O.M.

Serve in a coupe glass

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.

  2. 4 STRAIN into chilled glass.

Adapted from a recipe in Ted Saucier's 1951 book, Bottoms Up, this drink is credited to Arthur Hale of New York City. The recipe is: ARTHUR HALE (No. 2) 2 parts bourbon ½ part (plus) Italian vermouth ½ part (minus) French vermouth Dash benedictine Ice Shake. Strain into cocktail glass.
