Ingredients

1 2/3 oz Scotch whisky
5/6 oz Red quinquina e.g. Dubonnet, Byrrh
1 dash Orange bitters

How to make

Serve in a coupe glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.

  1. 3 STIR all ingredients with ice.
  2. 4 FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

Garnish

  1. 5 EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

This Rob Roy-like cocktail brings forward chocolatey notes.

This drink originated as the signature cocktail at Arnaud's Restaurant in New Orleans during the 1940s and 1950s. The recipe is adapted from Ted Saucier's 1951 book, Bottoms Up. ARNAUD'S Courtesy, Arnaud's Restaurant, New Orleans 3/4 Scotch 1/3 Dubonnet Dash orange bitters Lemon peel Ice Shake. Serve in a cocktail glass.
