History
This spirituous drink may have finished Archibald off, but his last drink was a proper sharpener. The perceived herbal benefits of Fernet and Bénédictine combined might have revived him. Served on-the-rocks, dilution takes the edge off the spirituous attack and opens the cocktail, releasing more herbal complexity.
Adapted from a recipe that originated at the Flatiron Lounge in New York City around 2010.
