History
The name says it all: sweet, sour and apricot flavoured.
Adapted from Vincent Sardi Jr. & George Shea's 1988 Sardi's Bar Guide, the Apricot (Brandy) Stone Sour is a variation of a stone sour with the addition of orange juice. The recipe calls for 1 teaspoon superfine sugar, 1 ounce lemon juice (preferably freshly squeezed), 2 ounces apricot brandy, and 2 ounces orange juice (preferably freshly squeezed). It is garnished with ½ slice orange or lemon and 1 maraschino cherry. To prepare, combine the ingredients with ice cubes in a cocktail shaker, shake, and strain into a cocktail glass. Alternatively, the contents, including ice cubes, can be poured into an Old-Fashioned glass and served on the rocks, garnished as specified.
