History

Intense and rich with robust flavours. A must for Chartreuse enthusiasts.

The Bijou, a vintage cocktail, traces its origins to a layered, or 'pousse-café', drink of the same name. The original was named 'Bijou' after the French word for 'jewel.' This moniker came from the drink's three components, each representing the color of a precious jewel: gin for diamond, sweet vermouth for ruby, and Green Chartreuse for emerald. When stirred, instead of layered, these colors meld into an amber hue, making the name entirely appropriate.
